Decided to watch this after being hesitant after seeing the reviews. I still went into it with an open mind of “if it’s Star Wars New Hope” rehashed I’m fine with that, as a sci-fi fan. It’s definitely a Snyder movie with all of his landscape shots, overly exaggerated slow motion, and uneven paced 2nd half. I feel this would have been better as a show for Netflix to really build upon this universe and overall storytelling. I did enjoy the overall Snyder “dark” theme he has in his movies. The music was good, I enjoyed most of the characters but felt like most of gang didn’t really do anything exciting to help the end battle besides, The blood axe commander. The movie overall like most Snyder films was focused on being flashy instead having a strong part one storyline and character building. It’s definitely a movie you can still pay full attention to while scrolling on your phone or doing other miscellaneous things that you need to do. Even if this was an early Star Wars production at first, it could have been so much more when it changed directions. I’m sure all the die hard Snyder fans will defend it to their grave but it’s a solid 2.5-3 star movie overall for most viewers and hard core sci-fi fans
