If Cringe has another name..... I am a native of the town they describe in the movie.. so, I was yearning to watch.. The melodramatic scenes with relations and unrelated plots intended to increase the emotional coefficient make the movie a bad watch. Some scenes (like the jallikkattu scene with heros wife leading jallikkattu)seem like out of a whatsapp forward. The director might have hinged on his successful delivery of a single night in "96".. but watching two grown men drinking and talking random stuff(leave alone singing tunes) is not actually fun. The only few gems are the moments of fun when karthi cracks some jokes.. else a 2hr sloppy melodramatic story with less logic and more drama.
