Berlin Coffee House

I was a huge fan of the original. I am very impressed that they didn’t reboot this in CGI. The fact that they used real puppets and built real sets makes a huge difference. I am not so sure I like the story as much. In the original, the Crystal was not dark until it was broken. The Skeksis were not some terrible alien. They were one half of a being. The other half were the Mystics. Once the Crystal was broken did the beings split into evil and good. That is when the Skeksis who were full of greed and ugliness used the gelflings for eternal life. That was the main theme of that movie. Once the shard was returned, the Skeksis and the Mystics reunited and balance was brought back to the planet. I love the work that was done and the amount of effort put into this series alone makes it worth watching. I just wish they had kept that storyline from the original.
