Very interesting story. This movie does hit home for me. I lived in a house about a 30 second walk from DuRocks Market which was on the corner of Grant Blvd. and Highland Street in Syracuse, NY. DuRocks is part of the dialog spoken by Val Kilmer in one scene. I am about 10 years older then Frank Whaley. This story is about a kid who grew up in my neighborhood and went to some of the same schools I did. I believe the name of the restaurant Frank worked at was the Corner House on Grand Blvd. My younger brother remembers Frank from high school. There are not many movies set in Syracuse NY out there. Also not many actually made in Syracuse. The story telling is very good and the filmography well done.
