Far from Hollywood CGI with action heroes as half Gods. Just watched Extraction 2, a superb action movie, but only that, perfect action. While Kandahar shows the human aspect, the gritty true harsh nature to be operating on foreign ground, not really knowing what's around the corner. The action scenes are realistic, no cool liners, just human cries for survival and pain. I have been working and living in East Africa and Middle East for 13 years, driving through Saudi landscape, stopped at temporary closed gas stations, to wait out intense sandstorms, sitting on the floor back of the station, with locals, eating with them, language barriers but a helping reaching out hand no matter race and religion. I have worked closely and spent a lot of time with Indians, Saudis, Iraqis and Pakistanis, and some of them are like my blood brothers. The relationship between Tom and Mo is one of the best parts of the movie. Of course, it has a very satisfying end where the viewer feels that bad ones got it, and got it overkill x 100. Amazing slice of another America which most people don't know exist. For me, maybe what we see is the platform for "The American dream". The lone cowboy, the lonesome hero, who does what's right. The man who fights for freedom and preservation of the his land, his lifestyle. Not to be mixed up with #GOP's misguided message. Yellowstone might be the America, the soul on what America was built on. Writing and acting off the charts, scenery is just WOW. Best part: No one is good, no one is bad, they are just complex characters like all humans are, which makes it realistic. Militia shootouts, not at all unrealistic, especially in the wake of real events we have seen going down IRL lately. The fight against evolution, development of nature into "modern living", more spot on than ever, Native Indians went through it, going through it, now Duttons becoming the Indians fighting the Hedge Funds and Corporate land developers. Life is so complicated as it already is, so no need to write Hollywood plots, Sheridan writes about life, and that's a plot better more complicated than any script
