Far from Hollywood CGI with action heroes as half Gods. Just watched Extraction 2, a superb action movie, but only that, perfect action. While Kandahar shows the human aspect, the gritty true harsh nature to be operating on foreign ground, not really knowing what's around the corner. The action scenes are realistic, no cool liners, just human cries for survival and pain.
I have been working and living in East Africa and Middle East for 13 years, driving through Saudi landscape, stopped at temporary closed gas stations, to wait out intense sandstorms, sitting on the floor back of the station, with locals, eating with them, language barriers but a helping reaching out hand no matter race and religion. I have worked closely and spent a lot of time with Indians, Saudis, Iraqis and Pakistanis, and some of them are like my blood brothers.
The relationship between Tom and Mo is one of the best parts of the movie. Of course, it has a very satisfying end where the viewer feels that bad ones got it, and got it overkill x 100. This movie is a must and very realistic. More of this
