As a FNAF fan, I was mildly disappointed with this film. It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t great either. The writing was clumsy, there were well written moments, and terribly written moments. In terms of the plot - all over the place. The film felt rushed, like they crammed a lot of content into 2 hours, that should have been expanded on in great detail. I went with my parents who have never known much about the FNAF universe, and they had no idea what was going on. That indicates a film that has been lazily crafted together with not much thought into actual film making. The big thing I really don’t understand, is why the filmmakers chose not to follow the much more intriguing, albeit convoluted plot of the games, which would have made for a much more suspenseful entertaining film, both for fans of the franchise, and newcomers.
