This movie had such potential, I don’t know why the writers thought that pushing politics would be endearing. I am so sick of white guilt, and I know most of the rest of us are too. Isn’t it better to have an ORIGINAL movie with people of color as the main characters, with good writing, good actors- than to alienate half the viewers with sloppy writing right out the gate? Clearly the writers did a little bit too much market research. The buzzwords and phrases in this movie could be made into a drinking game. It’s embarrassing.
It is such a shame that people of color have to be relegated to remakes. This movie could have been an instant classic, fit for family Halloween movie rotations. Speaking of remakes, I think We Have a Ghost deserves one- with the same cast, and an entirely different writing cast.
