Love the show! I have watched from the beginning. Having an 8yr old grand daughter who is autistic and nonverbal (altho she is doing great with her speech the past few months!) my heart was drawn to this show. It gives me hope that her future may be bright! If you don't have an autistic child or you are not on the spectrum, you cannot fully relate. The lady that has posted how bad the show is, etc...we all have our opinions. No hospital shows are not exact. My beloved Grey's Anatomy is one of those! The Good Doctor is unlike anything else and I applaud the writers, producers & actors. I watch the characters, plot and message they are convening, not the realistic accuracy of portrayal! I love The Good Doctor & can hardly wait for tonight's show!

I could totally relate to this insightful story of dysfunctional lives in Appalachia and pushing yourself to do better. I disagree that he "hates his own people". I love and appreciate my family, but unlike them, I did believe I could have a better, prosperous life, but I had to work to make that happen. I was the first in my immediate family to graduate college and work as a "professional". I'll forever have my roots, but I have grown and created my own branches! A very good read.
