The narrative was so long and detailed it became irritating. But this is Grisham right?! Surely there is a reason he invested so much detail, locations, people and many words....so so many words. So I finished. The last 2% of this read answers the big why. "Say what now?!" Underwhelmed. This novel would have been captivating with half the narrative.

The whole novel is written in a syrupy poetic prose. The most simple unexciting action is written as if it is magical and dipped in country down home goodness. I got more than half of it read and I just couldn't take another false note. Ridiculous and I live in Kentucky! Just get to the story next time please.

Awful, they took the whole animal...torture...empathy....thing waaaaay over the top. The music did not fit the moods and did not give that feel good vibe I've grown accustomed to in a Guardians of the Galaxy movie. The set designs were all off too....especially the silly jelly labs and fat baby uniforms of the guards.
The new earth inhabitants concept was simply dumb and unnecessary. The makeup for these folks was a joke. Not even close to the Marvel standard. Violence is hyperbolic and dark. They peel a dudes face off! Cover the kids eyes. Ridiculous I want my money back.
