I enjoyed the narrative style. I became more interested in military maneuvers and military history after reading this book. Goldworthy breaks down many battles during the conquest of Gaul and the Civil War. I purchased four more Goldworthy books because I trust him.

I’m glad Cormac took an interest in math and science. I’m divided about whether or not there is any depth in his philosophizing, but there’s definitely a lot of name dropping. And like all the McCarty’s I’ve read, there is not an ounce of joy.
