I stumbled upon this this evening and have watched both series and I can say honestly, this in my opinion is one of the best written TV shows I have ever watched. Sophie Willan is extraordinary in her role and her supporting cast , every one, are fabulous. Siobhan Finnernan blew me away with her performance as the complex and troubled Lin. The writing is warm and genuine and I found myself feeling very emotional in parts, I could relate to that dynamic of strong and complex female relationships through generations. I'm sure many people watching will feel the same. To touch people through a sitcom is genius. I hope there is more to come.

Very much enjoyed it second time round, very nostalgic with the styles of clothing and interiors back then too lol. Simpler times, brought back lots of nice memories. As ever Kay Mellor's writing is superb, the characters are real and relatable. An outstanding cast makes for a really well made comedy drama. James Corden really shone in this as a young man and Alison Steadman is outstanding. The dating episode written by Ruth Jones was wonderful. I laughed and cried throughout this series and was thoroughly entertained.

This was way better than I expected it to be. Being an Elvis fanatic it took me a long time getting round to watch it simply because I thought it would be an awful arty, pastiche portrayal of the King. I didn't want to be disappointed. Far from it. The acting is superb, Austin Butler was born to do this film. He must have lived and breathed Elvis in preparation for this film and it shows. Tom Hanks is brilliant as Parker. Probably the best I've ever seen him act. The attention to detail was everything costumes, mannerisms, inflictions, the way he moves exactly like Elvis. I frequently forgot I was watching an actor playing Elvis, he embodies him. The storytelling was fascinating, I learned so much I didn't know about the great man.

I enjoyed this series. Some of the acting leaves a lot to be desired in my humble opinion,but the main characters are played beautifully by Lesley Sharpe and Vincent Regan in particular and Patrick Gibson does a fine job as Christian. Did keep me on the edge of my seat so I can't agree with other reviewers that it was boring.

I really enjoyed both series. A stellar cast, great writing. But for me it just lacked something and I didn't feel we got to know the characters well enough. I got bored watching the last couple of episodes and I found it strange that they were only 20 odd minutes long. It just didn't flow like other dramas of this kind.

Found this film lacking in any warmth and humour. We didn't get to know the characters well at all it all seemed very rushed and disjointed. The songs were awful. With such a fantastic cast there was no excuse for how bad it was. The actors from Horrible Histories and Rowan Atkinson could have had more screen time they were the only ones worth watching. I was bored out of my skull half an hour in. Gene Wilder is Wonka and always will be.
