This book and its sequel were wonderfully done. Incredibly serious themes done for an audience of older middle school kids as well as adults. Im 74 and found the 2 books wholly interesting and satisfying. Sometimes tears streamed. Always engaging. Highly recommend.

This film is ugly. 3rd world ugliness for the most part. If that is ones hopes in entertainment a person might like it. Not me.

This was excellent-- intriguing, touching. First rate performances are what made this story work. Loved it. Then bought it for my friend. I read reviews afterward and am shocked the "critics" rated it low. But, as often, audience rated it highly.
