The setting and characters really let down the original.

It is exactly what you think it is.

A worthy sequel with several cliches for the wrap up. To keep it short, the actions and motivations are all there...there just isn't much pay off for the movie's 4 core characters come the end of the film. While it's nice to see the main hero make a selfish decision, the lack of consequence in the final act makes this no more than a fun character study more our leading cast, and not at all the action thriller we've come to expect from the superhero films of the past decade. Fun holiday movie, not a very super one though.
