We're just now watching Outlander and liking it very much. It's challenging to the mind, but that's a good thing. You need to pay careful attention to all the verbages and historical nuances to get it or you'll be lost at the Blarney. Brits back in the day were brutal and arrogant and in many respects...unforgiving. I'm sure the Scots were as well, to be fair, but we get a sense in the show of just how awful life back then was on a daily basis. If you're into quality programming, Outlander qualifies. Don't give up just because you think it's over your pay grade. Stay with it and you will be rewarded with insight. I'm very grateful that studios such as Netflix and Sony finance endeavors of this high end substance. You have to have a lot of foresight to upfront costs for such an epic show. It kind of reminds me of "Deadwood" in it's top to bottom high quality craftsmanship. You'll get that sense as well. From actors to location setting, this is so, so good.
