Regrettably, my experience with the fourth wing book left me thoroughly unimpressed, as it seemed to pander to a decidedly juvenile and high school-oriented mindset. The narrative, instead of offering a mature and nuanced storyline, delved into gratuitous and explicit content that felt more aligned with a sensationalized approach than a meaningful exploration of themes. The book's attempt at weaving a compelling plot was overshadowed by its reliance on gratuitous and pornographic elements, which not only failed to contribute to the narrative but detracted from any potential substance. Rather than engaging with thought-provoking themes or complex character development, the book appeared to prioritize shock value, reducing its overall literary merit. Moreover, the explicit nature of the content seemed gratuitous and unnecessary, giving the impression that it was included for shock value rather than as a meaningful contribution to the storyline. This left me questioning the author's artistic choices and their commitment to delivering a narrative that goes beyond mere sensationalism. In essence, the fourth wing book disappointed on multiple fronts, failing to elevate itself beyond a superficial and adolescent approach. The excessive focus on explicit material and cussing detracted from what could have been a more enriching reading experience, ultimately leaving me with the impression of a work that prioritized shock over substance. More dragons and fairytales, less high school talk, cussing and porn. Truly a waste of time.
