A lot of people say this is just more Danganronpa, but I personally do not agree.. To start with the good, the music is pretty good, although most songs are just remixes of songs from Danganronpa and made by Masafumi Takada so that's to be expected. The combat is quite fun, simple to understand and sometimes challenging, although it might get boring to you after some time with it. There are a couple The story itself is fine, and you can really, REALLY tell its written by Kodaka, with each day being packed with a decent amount of content to absorb. This would be great, if most of the characters weren't absolutely dreadful, forgettable, one-tone and just outright weird or evil for no particular reason.
For example, you have a guy who seems like he's well spoken and smart, but constantly manages to turn whatever he says into a comment about his sister, with their relationship being presented as oddly incestous.. Okay.. But what's worse is that none of the characters around EVER question them or say that maybe they shouldn't say things like that about their sister. Now, you can maybe excuse it if he gets better later on, and they seem to plant the roots by subtly addressing a potential trauma as to why he behaves like this, but it seems like it's never elaborated upon, as is what happens with quite a lot of plot points.
Now, maybe the game gets better as it goes further on... Mehhhh, not really.. If anything the characters feel like they get worse. Now that we've gotten to know everyone, they seem to just make more and more really unnecessary and strange comments that are really off putting, or they find a way to sexualise one of the characters, all of whom are around 17 years old. This kinda stuff happened in Danganronpa, but nowhere near to this degree. Like, one of my favourite characters in the series was just a "fan service" character at first in Asahina, but I genuinely began to like her character when I got to speaking with her, which this game genuinely lacks and its so sad.
On another note, the game has really weird grunting sounds they play whenever someone speaks they make grunting / moaning noises, which might be off putting to some people, and there's barely any actual voice acting, and when there is its really inconsistent, with one character speaking while others still do grunting.
Oh yeah, another thing that kinda really got frustrating was the constant recalls to a previous scene, which is nice, when its not EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. I understand that some people have really poor short term memory or can't play the game for extended periods, but does it really have to play the same scene we've already seen like every 1-3 days?
In conclusion, I don't think this game is all that good, and as much as it pains me to say I don't believe it is the spiritual successor to Danganronpa we all wanted, which is such a shame given how a lot of aspects in this game are solid and well thought out, but its just dragged down by really poor writing that gets on your nerves at every turn.
