This movie is very impressive given the amount of story they had to work with at the time (just the original Super Mario Bros.), and I find it pretty enjoyable! The interpretations of the game characters are pretty funny, especially Luigi. I’d say the only problems are inconsistencies relating to the actual game (such as buzzy beetles being killed by fireballs in the movie, even though they are immune to it in the game), and the random addition of the prince character, who gets peach instead of Mario getting her, which goes completely against the games. Otherwise, it’s great, and I’d recommend it to any Mario fan!
