There are movies and then there is THIS one. I couldn't shake it off from ny heart long after watching it. Director Azazel Jacobs has my utmost respect in delivering one of the most heart wrenchingly beautiful movies of the year. It takes place in one, beige apartment with white shelves and doors and it did not need anything more than the storyline and the performance of the three ladies and Pops to get it straight into my heart. Brilliant.
This one is definitely an Oscar contender. It is a must watch for those that need soul in art. It is beautiful, flawfully human and navigates through emotions the way life tends to. You sit there seeing yourself in some parts of the characters and realise wow you're not weird. Got me thinking about the ones I miss and the ones around.
I will be saving this movie for another rainy day when I need to be reminded that though we are all different we all do need the same - acceptance and perhaps a song.
