It also unveils the fact that life itself is a real adventure. Lets not forget about that important aspect. It tells a story that's very well-executed with clever turns and twists, and it possesses a heart within it's storyline. While the humor is funny, it doesn't always hit the spot at times, especially during the first and second act, but there are some touching elements that can go from sorrowful to uplifting. I must add that some of the action sequences are quite rousing, Michael Giacchino's music score is dramatic and rich enough to elevate the film; providing an authentic sense of emotion and adventure. However, if I were to compare this to "WALL.E," the entertainment value overall was not as gratifying as it could've been. The animation is dazzling in color and detail. Not to mention that the lively energy of the animation can expertly go from zippy to tranquil at appropriate times. The characters feel palpable, thanks to the script-writing and the exceptional voice acting. Ed Asner was wonderful as Carl Fredrickson as he simply delivers a soulful persona to him, and his dialogue is memorable. Russell is portrayed as the most realistic depiction of a child that I have ever seen in an animated film, and Jordan Nagai's voice performance brings him to vivid life. He loves nature which is always great. Although, giving any animal a piece of chocolate is not a good idea, because it's toxic for them. Sure, it may be an animated film, and Russell's bird friend Kevin is a mythical creature, but still, it shows that this film is not for gullible viewers.
