Art or pornography? This low budget film about a young prostitute from Brooklyn and her whirlwind, zany and pathetic affair with the son of a hedonistic, self absorbed Russian oligarch demeans and degrades women, including those who waste their time watching it. It serves to reinforce the current popular opinion expressed by some of todayโs leaders that women are simply sexual objects for the gratification of men. Love, sex and marriage are transactional, nothing more. What possible redeeming social value is there in justifying violence and humiliation of a naive woman struggling to survive in a world ruled by rich assholes?
Women ultimately pay the price.
