I saw a poster for this and already knew it would be terrible because Owen Wilson and Jennifer Lopez have ZERO chemistry. I thought I'd give it a watch anyway and I was right.
This maybe a romcom, but romantic films aren't really Owen Wilsons thing. It clearly shows throughout the film, as he stumbles through it looking completely out of place, except when he can throw some comedy in.
The story is like a lot of Lopez's previous films, such as The Wedding Planner and Maid in Manhattan, although this time the roles are switched. Instead of the male lead being the one who does the realisation and the last moment dash, she does instead.
The music, while completely original, is mostly autotuned and it didn't make me feel anything. I didn't feel anything for the characters either. They all seemed very basic and there was no depth to them. The use of social media was overbearing and didn't add anything to the movie as a whole, other than as a filler and distraction.
If I want to watch a movie about a celebrity who falls in love with a non celebrity, I'd rather watch Notting Hill.
