Mesmerizing from the get-go. Knowing how much acting chops Jonathan Groff has (‘The Bacchae’ at Shakespeare in the Park), I was not at all surprised that he nailed Agent Ford down to a ‘T’ and delivers what I believe to be his best work to date (‘Looking’’ included). I am less familiar with Holt McCallany and Anna Torv but their work on ‘Mindhunter’ is an impressive introduction. And anything David Fincher does has always been interesting, to say the least, but this is way better than just interesting. First and foremost is the storytelling, no directorial flourishes or artsy camera maneuvers. Excellent job all around.
