I don't give many games a perfect grade, but this is probably one of my top 10 of all-time games. The mechanic that was introduced had been done in other titles, but never to this level of success. The sanity points mechanic is pure genius. The overall atmosphere worked really well for the time at keeping the player immersed in the tension. The graphics have aged poorly, but let's be honest...all of this or the subsequent generation has. I would love to see the series revisited, but only if they could figure out an interesting way to be different again. We've got enough Alan Wakes and Amnesias. This would have to be creators coming at it with fresh minds like was done with Alien Isolation. But a game I would suggest to anyone wanting a deep dive into good game history.
