The Forest of Enchantments...A novel by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni.... The novel is based on one of the greatest epic in our history "Ramayana". We have always hear or read the story of Ramayana from some man's point of view but here the author depicts it from a women's or Sita's point of view...that is why It catches my interest....on the beginning the novel is little slow and need some patience but after some phrases it became interesting as we get to know the loves story of Ram and Sita...their romance... understanding...sacrifices of a women in building a relationship. Though it is a epic story but Chitra made it very contemporary. It also explains the rights of a women in a relationship and how a women should be treated by a man. Over all its a good read and have a strong effect. In this era where women are facing abuses regularly, this novel will teach us how to maintain our self respect.
