I have plowed through half of the book and cannot find any socially redeeming value. If reading about entitled grown children and their manipulative mannerisms floats your boat, then read this ridiculous book. I love a book with detailed character development. The main problem with this book without a plot is that the Stocktons have no character. I will not waste my time finishing Pineapple Street which is something I rarely do. Perhaps the author should stick to editing. Whoever decided to publish this attempt should be fired. They are probably related to the author.
