I really enjoyed this continuation of the Strike/Ellacott series. I appreciate Rowling’s ability to conceptualize plot lines that are so diverse and, as a result keep, churning out mysteries that are fresh, all the while continuing to develop characters that are so real and lovable. As is the case with all the books in this crime series, the plot is heavy with the sheer evil humans are capable of, but Rowling manages to keep the reader buoyed up even in the face of that by showing the effect of even just a few who are willing to be courageous and sacrificially step into the fray. If you have enjoyed the other books in the series, this one won’t disappoint.
