While disappointing that we never got to see what happened to Mia, this is a solid spiritual successor to Evil Dead 2013. While not a perfect movie, it still had some genuinely tense moments, and utilized the new setting nicely. Effects and makeup were great, characters for the most part weren't annoying d-bags. While sometimes setup wasn't the best, the payoffs did still have some hackle-raising results.
I will however warn that to those who hate seeing kids in dangerous situations, this is NOT the movie for you. While playing on the uncomfortable nature of having kids being targeted by the Evil does make for some tense moments, it is understandably hard to watch children being cut up and mutilated.
Solidly recommend to any fan of the franchise. Not as good as 2013 or the Original, but a decent entry into the series.
