My Catholic wife and her Jewish husband (me) exclaimed in unison how the two hours watching this film were a waste. Karol Kane’s performance was perhaps the strongest element of the movie whereas Jason Schwartsman’s rudderless one (his acting not the character he plays) was a low point. Too many characters were caricatures and too many lines were, well, pointless or missed the mark otherwise. The plot line had promise but the concluding scenes stretched credulity and patience. I felt much Jewish guilt as I wished that the truck early in the film had not stopped. Sure Jason’s character would have perished but my wife and I could have watched paint dry for the better part of an hour or so.
