The author has given us a very deep insight into the life of young Jehan Bondurant in 17th-century France. Deep in the Cevennes Mountains, he learns the trade of his forefathers as an apothecary, which he would use the rest of his life to cure the ailments of the people he loved.
The best part is that Jean Pierre Bondurant was a real person, who we believe is the progenitor of that family name in America! His birthplace still stands on Le Grand Rue in the town of Genholhac, Gard, France! And his descendants celebrate his memory.
I can't wait for the next volume of this saga to come out! Well done, Jules Larimore!
