For me this film was an authentic insight into the reality of prison life.
It revealed the struggles and challenges the inmates faced, not only with personal demons, but with the system itself.
The upside to this extremely difficult subject matter was the hope that was given to the prisoners through the art form of theater. Through this medium they found comradary and an avenue to see themselves as something other than a convict with hope for a future beyond the stone walls.
Inspite of a slightly slow start, the story line was bold, raw, yet empathetic and the cast were brilliantly 'captivating'.
