This newest version of revival Tommy the musical is simply brilliant. I have been following this musical since a dance version was produced at Lone mountain collage in SanFrancisco Bay Area. I saw it in NEW YORK TWICE 10 years ago. This version makes sense, we can understand the plot and everything falls together. It’s not just a hodgepodge. The staging, dance arrangements, set Lighting special effects - Acting is mesmerizing.

I dislike 90% of what’s out there. It ain’t no Downton Abbey - am spoiled. And would not characterize this piece as on a par with others in the genre. So that’s my dilemma. The guided age - It’s okay but not really accurate depiction of the times in costumes, anachronistic, ex: the bodice was not like that. with ridged fabric holding away from the body, would be scandalous. (Stiffness only on corsets) often ruffles lace as embellishment. I am uncomfortable with the choice of American dialect - accents of the characters lack of depth of character vocabulary is distracting and these characters are amateurishly disappointing. I don’t believe they are who they are, or where they came from.
