Haunting story with equal parts suspense and heartbreak. Glenda Jackson as the main character, Maud, is sensational. But it was tough, at times to watch, reminding me of my own mother's struggles with aging and loss of independence. This one will stay with you. All of the female leads are phenomenal. The males are just condescending enough and portray characters we all recognize. They are of secondary importance, though very well played. At times the pacing was very slow, but "time" is an important component in the story.

Entertaining, but you quickly realize how much the producers control by way of camera reactions and overly obvious questions. Didn't you know it would be one of the women after the football tell? Ferguson is best when he is allowed to ridicule a show format's self-importance and be wonderfully cranky. I'll like it better if he suddenly says, "Oh, I don't care who it is. One of you stand up."

Good movie. Too damn loud. Google the story before you go. Wear earplugs. You've been cautioned.
