The opening scene was great and it felt like like this was going to be an awesome movie. What followed was surprisingly disappointing. For me a flat film that went nowhere. Great acting and costumes, excellent colour grading, however, no edge of the seat moments and little character development. I didn’t get any real sense of how and why Napoleon rose to such prominence or what it was that made him such a great leader of men. This film will likely win Oscar’s and again demonstrate how differently we all see things.
