This beautiful film seeks to illuminate a most difficult time in the RC Church's politics. Pryce and Hopkins give nuanced and often very humorous performances. I was surprised at how many genuine ' laugh-out-loud' moments there were. It also lays out (albeit simply) the continual tensions within the church between post Vatican Council reformers and 'traditionalists'. I loved the juxtaposition of jazz music with renaissance religious art.
