I just watched episode six, and I think it will be my last. I kept fast forwarding because I didn’t really care about the trials/impacts of building the 10 freeway. Or the trial. Or the white-people-evil hammering the viewer. Yes, I read the book. I loved it and I think Brie Larson portrays Elizabeth Zott perfectly. And I do enjoy the visual splendor of the saturated colors in the TV series.
Yes, it does bother me that it’s called “Lessons in Chemistry” yet deviates so far from the book plot. In the book the focus is on Elizabeth. The rowing. The dog. The CHEMISTRY. That’s not true for the series. They should title it as something else; it lacks the charm of the book.
