This movie is an epic failure of epic proportion on all fronts. I had high anticipation for Joaquin Phoenix in this role but I was very disappointed. The way the movie portrayed Napoleon and Josephine is laughable. I was wondering if the director was trying to mock the real characters or not. If he did, it was a poor job and not very funny not to mention a cheap shot at historical figures. If he didn't...well it looked as if he did. This movie at the end seemed to be a poor documentary in which the director just raced through historical events (so he can claim to be historically accurate?). I didn't see the point at all of this movie. How can I gain back the hours I wasted watching this movie?
