watched first 2 episodes and was i have to say, quite impressed. I was not alive in 1957, so was unsure how accurately the series reflected the times but will give it the benefit of the doubt. I know how shocking it was, for me to come to the UK in the late 60's from living in the West indies. I am not White or Black, but have quite a dark complexion skin colourwise. So I did encounter a bit of prejudice when I first arrived. This was probably not due to my skin but I did have an American accent. (Over the years I have now lost this!)

This is such a shame that a good story is ruined by totally offensive and disgusting language which pervades it. I have watched 3 episodes and the offensive reference to Jesus F. Christ is a complete turnoff and I will not be continuing to watch. The writers of this drama should be ashamed of themselves and should perhaps think of rereleasing a version that cuts out this disgusting and disgraceful language. When it does then I will be able to resume watching what is otherwise a good story!

This book is excellent - I could not recommend it highly enough. It's only minor drawback is that the scriptures are in roman numerals, but once you have overcome that minor issue, the content is exceptional. What I love most is that the focus of the book is totally on Jesus, there is no blether or focus on the author or other individuals. This book has one purpose - It glorifies Jesus and I can only say Amen to that.
