I really liked this movie. If you’re wanting a slasher type of horror film, you will be disappointed. BUT, this film is 99% about what could happen. It’s strength is in what doesn’t happen; it’s fantastic at keeping you unsettled. Which, is personally my favorite.
I think this may hit home for women more than men, since women are preyed upon. We’ve all been home alone and thought we heard a weird noise, didn’t answer the doorbell when it rang, etc. Then, we tell ourselves to stop being crazy.
I was a bit worried there was going to be a woke message, but it was not aggressive. It touched on “believe women,” but it wasn’t in your face like sooo many films now.
The film also looks really good. Visually it’s aesthetically pleasing. Color grading, cinematography, and the tones used were great.
Only took off one star because it was nearly perfect, until the end. It was just a bit too unbelievable. I know it’s a movie, but I wish there was a more clever way to have done it.
