I honestly am so disappointed. As a person who has experienced trauma and addiction this didn’t depict any of the feelings one goes through while battling the demons. From the makeup while sleeping, never once smudging, to the lack of emotions throughout the ENTIRE movie I was so annoyed. I only kept watching because i thought maybe there would be a break through but boy was I wrong. Nicola has no concept of what poverty is or trauma, so her lack of connection made the movie so bland. Now granted not every actress or director has experienced such pain, but many do their job by ACTING and portraying that pain. It seems like she rolled over and just jotted things down and thought “wow a movie.” With no thought behind it. It has potential, the concept would’ve been so good but the shots were bad, the close ups of her face when there should’ve been something to grab us as viewers left me under whelmed. There was no connection, a lot of scene jumping and when she expressed to her mother how her step father raped her i hoped at least this one time she would break down to redeem the lack of connection I was feeling but even that was lack luster. She just stares blankly all the time, and her tones and expressions don’t match the scenes in the movie. There was nothing about the movie that made me think about watching it again or even recommending it…. Highly disappointed… being pretty doesn’t make you talented
