Only very, very loosely based on the book and the storyline of Death on the Nile...and what on Earth happened to Poirot?! There was a character with the name, but it definitely wasn't Hercule Poirot! It's set in the 1930s, so just using the basic plot with different characters, adding in 'action' scenes, and creating new narratives to highlight current views on social and political issues just turns it all into a very disappointing and ridiculous parody. Fine for movie -goers who like hammy Hollywood - style action/murder mystery for light entertainment, but for Agatha Christie fans, it's an insult.
