On an idle day I picked up Red Wolves then found most of the characters came from a previous novel, Black 13. My interest was piqued because there have been references in the media as well as, press coverage about a growing and frightening development relating to the rise of the extreme right. Adam Hamdy's work might be fictional but I found his depiction of the rise of extremism confrontational, in a good way - I became hooked on the story he was relating for us.. His work alerts us to the apathy and indifference that may fool us to believe that extreme ideology does not impact on us and therefore, we are not responsible for the havoc it can create. Vigilance is everyone's responsibility as we expect it to keep us safe. Adam's approach and authorship is excellent and he researches his subjects well. He is the author to bring these issues to our notice. I give him credit for his work.
