The screenplay for this movie is as if someone desperately wanted to write a story about a young showgirl breaking her leg and was forced to turn it into a prequel to Rosemary's Baby. It follows all the similar beats of the 1968 movie while abandoning all plot points that would've given it any connection to Rosemary's Baby.
