I've read the To All the Boys I've loved before trilogy by Jenny Hann, and when i came across this book, i had high expectations, not gonna lie. but i did not like it at all. It wasn't a light read, never funny, and always confusing. there are times when distinctions between the past and present aren't very clear. throughout the book, the main character Belly is so confused between 3 guys and the only person she treats right is the one who doesn't treat her well. In a lot of ways, I could find myself wanting to pull my hair out and force her to not take all the good people she had in her life for granted. It glorified first crush in a way that you basically don't see any scope of falling in love again, which is insane and problematic. throughout, she keeps blaming her mother just because she can. Conrad was no less confused than Belly in whatever he did. The way Taylor was portrayed by Belly, it comes as a surprise to me that Belly even regarded her as a friend. Not one relationship I could find there which was healthy and not toxic. Then add to it two divorces and the death of the best character of the entire plot. I'm real mad I wasted all this time on this book.
