I'm agreeing to some of the reviews that it lacks narrative. The first segment where the desert-sailing ship with Ron Perlman at the helm is probably the worst scene in the movie. Perlman and his band of misfits are just it, they don't fit in, at all. That said, the story actually picks up quite good after that. Artemis' crew is actually quite entertaining to watch (they even cast T.I), such a shame they were the first ones to go. They're acting is probably the best in the whole film, theirs and Jovovich's and of course Jaa's. The world is believable, beautiful, CGI is great, the monsters are on point and stayed true to their origins (afaik). I could go for the sequel.
