As an avid fan of the avatar universe I’ll be completely honest, I was heavily disappointed. From the cast to the writing, all of it came colliding to create a massive waste of time. From taking my favourite childhood show, something that I even repeat now in my 20s from time to time, to creating this…there were moments I wanted to skip scenes because of my frustration. Whilst I understand change can be good, nerfing whole character plots and making them 2 dimensional was not it. There was a reason why this show was ahead of its time and so beloved. Katara my favourite character from the show, although I have no qualms with the actress herself, as this is probably her first show, the writer’s did her dirty by removing certain elements for her character. Sokka, his lack of sexism? That’s what made sokka, sokka. Something which he is proven wrong in. Suki flirting with sokka first…aang and his acting, the missing of certain episodes and wrong order of them. And don’t get me started on Bumi! The tunnels where katara and aang are meant to go through…The writing for the actors were also terribly done. Why go away from the original script when it was perfect. One piece could do it well… I guess the only thing I liked about this was probably the cgi and some fight scenes. Goodluck for the next few seasons. - a disappointed avatar fan
