Its a decent ARPG worthy of casual and beginner billionaires, as well as Diablo fanatics all.
If you are not one of those, and like me, have played other ARPGs, and other Diablo titles as well into the thousands of hours, you will find this isn't a well-designed, fine-tuned, hype-worthy game.
For starters, Holy Frkkn H Christy 100 bucks for the priviledge of being able to log in to a half baked game that you cannot own, and have to have internet connection ALL THE TIME to lousy servers that disconnect all the time - should I go on? Forget playing hardcore because if you die due to server-side DC, its still your fault! What kind of game developer would take the above sentences seriously?! Obviously greedy blizzard ones!
Then there's level difficulty scaling - I mean - its not a bad idea for bosses and upper tier monsters, but what kind of lazy demonic goatmen would scale EVERYTHING so much so that even at level 99 with Super mega legendary items you can die from being bitten by a bug? Just unbeleivably lazy implementation, direction, development! not worth 70$, let alone 100!
Next! The open world looked nice, I was actually excited looking at the vast map - BUT! when I traverse the world so much of it is empty so much so that half my damn playtime is just walking / horsing from one place to another! Also, when in the towns the armorer/vendor/etc are just located seemingly deliberately as far away as possible from your stash that - again - waste so much time going back and forth! I literally spent some hour-long sessions just managing items in town this way and not actually out playing the game!
Oh and speaking of items - four stashes? SERIOUSLY?! For a 70-100$ game? This reeks of "selling stash tabs by the $$$$" in the some future move when all the noisy critics are gone already and all thats left are fanatic cashcows.
Did I say "cashcows"? Oh yeah - the in-game store is "well-developed" compared to game mechanics. Have you seen how much those things cost? My billionaire friends are kinda ok with it! My working class wallet feels miserable already by comparison alone!
Misery you say? Oh we got lots of those! From endless switching to the map screen/no overlay, single quest tracking only, Renown Replay per character, No search function, no item filter, very limited build diversity, and much much more! If you wanted misery, Blizzard is serving! if you want an actual enjoyable game experience - look elsewhere.
Really. Not. Worth. 70$.
But if you like fantasy class-isometric-cam-walking-and-paying simulator, I'm sure you will be super happy with the game.
