I wish you would please refrain from your comments about the two Dakotas have four senators, and California only has two. That is correct, but California has 53 congressman, to the Dakotas two. During the constitutional debate in 1787 they had two plans. One based on population, and one based on equal representation regardless of population. The big compromise was the system we have today. In fact, many of the founders believed the House was superior because the people directly elected congressman, while the senators were chosen by the respective state legislatures.
