Though this is disaster movie, it stands apart from Hollywood movies. A typical Hollywood movie centers around one guy saving the world or a country from disaster. But in Cloudy Mountain, a big patriotic disaster management team saves a town from flooding. Zhi-zhong Huang and Yilong Zhu acting as father and son have done a pretty good job in this movie...particularly Huang. Though Junyan Jiao playing the role of Yilong Zhu's girlfriend has done a commendable job, the movies falls too short of revealing the emotional attachment between them. Most often she cries over the phone. Shu Chen plays a stone faced emotionless unimpressive role as the boss in charge of the operation to save the town. The visual effects are excellent but only for a short period of time. The biggest criticism I can throw at this movie is that, there are many scenes in this movie where the viewers are not sure about where exactly Huang and Zhu are in the disaster area. As a matter of fact, even they don't seem to know where they are? Watchable movie.
