Ginnie Brennan

This movie is gorgeous—costumes, sets, film, actors. Unfortunately, the choppy presentation destroys the strong, simple story that Alcott wrote. Lots of mannerisms and some of the script are anachronistic. The contemporary perspective also obvious in the added speeches, events, and interactions. Altogether, I thought the movie stunk. The gorgeousness just made the scrambled center more obvious.
