I agree with those entities like Rotten Tomatoes whom gave three stars. However, there was at least one scene in a restaurant where five stars were in order. It was purely cinematic genius,up there with the first four minutes of Swordfish and a few other rare choice monologues. I won’t give it away but
it encapsulated the very best of the film.
Christian Bale nailed Cheney’s mannerisms and the film raises real questions as to whether Cheney’s motives
were pure...or not ? Of course there is that
pesky Haliburton connection which muddies the water. Anyway, don’t leave at each of two false endings which is a tad annoying.
All in all, worthwhile if you’re like me trying to figure out what (really) went on in those days.
